Welcome to the Settlement Website for the class action lawsuit known as Custom Hair Designs by Sandy, LLC, et al. v. Central Payment Co., LLC, in the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska.

A settlement has been approved to end a class action lawsuit brought against Central Payment Co., LLC (“CPAY”). The lawsuit, referred to as Custom Hair Designs by Sandy, LLC, et al. v. Central Payment Co., LLC, Case No. 8:17-cv-00310-JFB-CPZ (D. Neb.), alleges, among other things, that CPAY misrepresented fees it charged for its card processing services and improperly added or inflated fees. CPAY denies these allegations but has entered into this Settlement to avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation.

Under the Settlement, CPAY paid $54,403,281.62 for the benefit of customers who were members of the Class.

Class Members who were Current Customers of CPAY were eligible to receive a cash payment. If you were a Current Customer and a member of the Class, you automatically received a cash payment. The amount of your cash payment was based on an Allocation Method, which is attached as Exhibit 1 to the Settlement Agreement.

Class Members who were Former Customers of CPAY and who filed a valid and timely claim were eligible to receive a cash payment. The amount of your cash payment was be based on an Allocation Method, which is attached as Exhibit 1 to the Settlement Agreement. The deadline for filing your claim was August 6, 2022.

The Court held a Final Approval Hearing and approved the Settlement on August 11, 2022, at the United States District Court for the Central District of Nebraska. Please read the Notice and this website carefully.


Your Legal Rights and Options in This Class Action
Do Nothing

If you were a Current Customer who is a member of the Class, you automatically received payment, and are bound by the Settlement. If you were a Former Customer who was a member of the Class, you received no payment and forfeited your right to sue CPAY for the claims being resolved by this Settlement.

Accept the Benefits of the Settlement

If you were a Current Customer who was a member of the Class, you automatically received a payment, and are bound by the Settlement.

If you were a Former Customer who was a member of the Class, you must have filed a Claim Form to receive a payment. This is the only way to get a payment if you were a Former Customer.

Exclude Yourself (Opt Out) From the Settlement

If you asked to be excluded, you did not receive any benefits from the Settlement, but you may be able to file your own lawsuit.

Object to the Settlement

You may have remained in the case and filed an objection telling the Court why you did not like the Settlement. If your objections were overruled, you are bound by the Settlement.
